Hello!
My name is Coach Sue and I am delighted to introduce myself as the proud owner and lead instructor of Monkeynastix Barrie, a children's fitness literacy program. As an avid mountain biker, both recreationally and professionally, I discovered my passion for both physical fitness and encouraging others, all while having fun! I am dedicated to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while fostering self confidence in others.
After 25+ years as a Registered Early Childhood Educator, I decided to take my passions and start my own business. I have been running Monkeynastix Barrie programs for the past 12 years. My focus is to empower children, encourage them to embrace challenges, take risks, and believe in their abilities. Witnessing the positive impact of boosting children's self-esteem has been immensely rewarding and fun for me!

What to expect
What to expect
Enjoy a fun packed Monkeynastix class with your little one doing a variety of age appropriate activities focused on fun and confidence building. Children develop fundamental skills including speed/agility, balance, spatial awareness, hand/foot co-ordination, and gross/small motor skills. Each lesson begins with a warm-up where they participate in a fun dance-along song, stretching positions and locomotion followed by a small motor activity. Children then participate in a circuit with our specialized gymnastic and sports equipment focusing on a specific skill each week. The class ends with a fun closing activity, song and a participation sticker handout. New equipment and lessons are introduced weekly.
Monkeynastix combines creativity and music to teach children flexibility, balance, strength, agility, co-ordination and body awareness in each energy-packed session.

Each class starts with a warm up song and then we begin our fun, fast paced, movement education program focusing on gross/fine motor skills, balance/co-ordination and spatial/body awareness. Our 1-2 year olds, along with their parents, enjoy finding out all the new things they can do with a variety of safe activities, using specialized kid sized equipment, which changes weekly, and super fun music! New skills are learned, confidence built and everyone is having a blast! Class ends with a monkeynastix sticker and a high five!

Each class begins with a fun energetic warmup song, stretching positions and locomotion. The children and their parents, when needed (as their child begins to acquire more independence) then engage in 2 to 3 main activities on specialized equipment, introducing new ones weekly. Each half hour, fun packed lesson ends with you and your little ones participating in a closing sport activity and music. They are rewarded with a Monkeynastix sticker (and an encouraging high five) to end the class.

At the beginning of each class there is a more advanced fun warmup song and stretching exercises followed by a small motor activity. The kids then get to run through the obstacle course with new specialized equipment introduced weekly. The action-packed half-hour session ends with a closing sport activity and music that everyone can join in. And of course, the kids get a different Monkeynastix sticker as a reward, plus a high five to acknowledge their progress! In this class, the kids get to do things more on their own as they acquire more independence.
